Born and raised in the Midwest, I grew up in Iowa before eventually making my home in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona, where I’ve lived for over 20 years. I thrive on the sunshine and spend as much time as possible hiking and kayaking throughout the Southwest. Getting out into nature isn’t just a pastime for me—it’s essential. Time spent in nature is a vital part of my life and creative process.

Experience

Art has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I received my first art scholarship in second grade and began running small art businesses as early as middle school. I earned my BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration from Drake University, where I was classically trained in drawing—pencil on paper—which remains the foundation of all my illustrations. After college, I spent over a decade owning a mural and furniture design and painting business, with work featured in Phoenix Home & Garden and Ahwatukee Foothills magazines. About ten years ago, I transitioned into surface pattern design and illustration, and since then have designed and licensed artwork for hundreds of products worldwide.
